My Esthetician School Fund

I’m Madison, and I’m 18 years old.  I’m trying to raise money so I can attend DeRielle Cosmetology Academy next year (or as soon as possible). Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a love for beauty. I’d put beads in my sisters hair. I’d constantly dig in my mother’s makeup (and nail polish, yikes!) and I had many toy makeup palettes that I loved with a passion. When I was a little older, I got my very first real eyeshadow palette. It was a bunch of blues, and I went around wearing my favorite shade of them all - the darkest blue they had, paired with some red lips! Further down the road, my older sister as well as my mother would do my makeup and being that young, I couldn’t believe how much it transformed my face! It was like magic to me. Those makeovers really pushed me further and made me become even more interested in makeup. So around age 12, I began my adventure in makeup. I’m now a freelance makeup artist of Bibbidi Bobbidi Beautiful! I have had the privilege of working with many clients doing their makeup for special events. Everyone walked away with a smile on their face looking amazing and feeling very beautiful. But some things are missing that I’d like to do.. nails, lashes, and skincare. Those are things that, by law in Pennsylvania, you need a license for and cannot do freestyle like I can with my makeup. I had to seek out a school that would offer those courses individually, and finally found one that happens to be Christian based as well (which is important to me)! Of course, however, school requires money and gas (although luckily they’re covering the textbooks and supplies already) which is hard for me to come up with right now as I am still job searching for something that is more lenient on my foot as I have an issue that prevents me from standing or walking for long periods of time. I can’t even describe in words how badly I want to go to this school. Sometimes just talking about it and realizing I could actually be a LICENSED esthetician and nail tech makes me tear up. Doing something I LOVE everyday as my occupation that also is kind to my foot?? Yes please!! And getting to meet people everyday and help them feel beautiful? Knowing how I can care properly for my own skin, for my family’s skin? Knowing how to properly do a set of nails? And LASH EXTENSIONS?? YES. PLEASE. I was homeschooled and back then had no desire to attend college. With my dad being the only one working, it was very hard for him to provide for schooling, and support the family. I graduated high school this past July, which is when I realized how much I loved helping people feel beautiful. I know I’m good at it; I’m very much at home with my clients. I was hesitant about creating this GoFundMe page. It’s really awkward to do something like this, but I prayed about it. I know there are people that are brave enough to ask for help and there are people that actually care enough to help. If I could reach my goal by next year, I’d be absolutely ecstatic. Even if I don’t reach my goal, anything helps and will be put toward the tuition cost! Thank you so much for viewing and supporting my schooling fund!
