Hey there, friends, acquaintances and not-yet-friends, Dalia here.

For those of you who still don't know me very well, I am a writer from Italy living, struggling and thriving in Berlin. After years of feeling liminal in different fields of knowledge and chaotic researching into capitalism, commons, community, affects, queerness, vagueness, ghosts, resistance, rebellion, nonperformativity, informality, social fiction and desires, I finally got admitted to the Master program of my dreams, at the Dutch Art Institute (DAI).

The Dutch Art Institute a.k.a. DAI, a.k.a. DAI ROAMING ACADEMY, is an itinerant program that fosters a variety of praxes at the intersections of art and theory (both seen as un-disciplines), and invigorates (collective) thinking, researching, performing, curating, writing, voicing, making and publishing. DAI is acclaimed for its inventive modus operandi, its generous semi-public program and the transformative potentiality of its curriculum, developed in long time co-operation with a precise selection of imaginative cultural collectives/organisations as well as with individual practitioners and researchers at the forefront of artistic and intellectual inquiry, context, production and distribution.

WHAT IS MINE COMES FROM OUR COMMITMENT TO EACH OTHER

I consider this achievement as a collective effort, as it is the result of the emotional and intellectual support that I have received from my peers and lovers who trusted me and patiently appreciated the way I perceive and analyze the world, being altogether the embodiment of my projective knowledge and a fragile body of pain.

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

Like every other cultural worker, I inhabit a landscape of economic precarity rich in solidarity. Right now, the biggest challenge ahead of me is to balance my nourishing work life which is ruled by scarcity with my new educational commitment by finding the resources to finance the program.

MOST OF THE TIME I AM ANTI-, BUT I AM ALWAYS ENTHUSIAST

I don't believe in institutional funding or grants, as I don't believe in bureaucracy, performativity and the regulative parameters on which they are founded. In other words, I don’t like to be affiliated or depend on places generating debt, ruled by hierarchy and depend on class inequalities.

HOW I MOVE IS LIKE A DROP

I move within redistributions, gifts, decentralization and non-monetary exchange.

As my method of culture making and sharing is based on chains of people mending together ideas. My education will directly impact my community and the people around me in a beautiful game of touching and colliding of words and practices - wildfires in a desert.

WHAT I AM ASKING

This gofundme asks you to chip in with what you can in order to contribute materially to this resharing of knowledge. Over the course of the next two years, I will need to pay a total of around 7K. But here, I only ask you to contribute ten percent of the total sum. Those 700 euros will help me fund a bed and some food for the first quadrimester of my studies.

Per coloro che ancora non mi conoscono bene, sono una scrittrice italiana che vive, lotta e prospera a Berlino. CIÒ CHE È MIO DERIVA DAL NOSTRO IMPEGNO RECIPROCO

Considero questo successo come uno sforzo collettivo, in quanto è il risultato del sostegno emotivo e intellettuale che ho ricevuto dai miei colleghi, coetanei e amanti che hanno avuto fiducia in me e hanno pazientemente apprezzato il mio modo di percepire e analizzare il mondo, essendo nel complesso l'incarnazione della mia conoscenza proiettiva e un fragile corpo di dolore.

SIAMO TUTTI COINVOLTI IN QUESTA STORIA

Come ogni altro operatore culturale, abito un paesaggio di precarietà economica ricco di solidarietà. In questo momento, la sfida più grande che mi attende è quella di bilanciare la mia vita lavorativa, che si nutre di scarsità, con il mio nuovo impegno educativo, trovando le risorse per finanziare il programma.

PER LA MAGGIOR PARTE DEL TEMPO SONO CONTRARIA, MA SONO SEMPRE ENTUSIASTA

Non credo nei finanziamenti istituzionali o nelle borse di studio, come non credo nella burocrazia, nella performatività e nei parametri normativi su cui si fondano. In altre parole, non mi piace essere affiliato o dipendere da luoghi che generano debito, governati dalla gerarchia e dipendenti da disuguaglianze di classe.

MI MUOVO COME UNA GOCCIA

Mi muovo all'interno di ridistribuzioni, doni, decentramento e scambi non monetari.

Il mio metodo di fare cultura e di condividere si basa su catene di persone che rammendano insieme le idee. La mia formazione avrà un impatto diretto sulla mia comunità e sulle persone che mi circondano in un bellissimo gioco di contatto e collisione di parole e pratiche - incendi nel deserto.

COSA CHIEDO

Questo gofundme vi chiede di contribuire con quello che potete per contribuire materialmente a questa condivisione della conoscenza. Nel corso dei prossimi due anni, dovrò versare un totale di circa 7.000 euro. Ma qui vi chiedo solo di contribuire con il dieci per cento della somma totale.
