My Dear Aunt Susan Medical Care

My Dear Aunt Susan gave up her single, carefree life and allowed me to move in with her as a 15 year old high school drop out. Boy- she had no idea what she was getting herself into. I had done everything in my power to throw my life away, dropped out of school, hung out with the wrong crowd who were doing the wrong things. All it took was one phone call from me to ask if I could move from South Carolina to Westborough, MA with her and she without hesitation said yes. I never left, and thanks to her I am a successful woman with a career and a wonderful family. 

It is because of her unwavering generosity that I am asking for help. Susan, the caretaker to my 4 year old daughter, had a cough that would not go away as well as tingling in her hands and arms. The day before Christmas Eve she woke up unable to drive herself to the hospital. My Aunt Melissa saved the day and escorted her to the hospital and over the next few days it was discovered that she has lung cancer (a non-smoker for 40 years) and suffered through several minor strokes. This news is utterly devastating to our family. Susan gave up so much of her life to help me, and I want to do everything in my power to help her. 

Susan's job fizzled away many years ago and has been living off of her social security as well as what we pay her for watching Penny. We can only do so much, and she is terrified of the medical costs that will come along with this diagnosis. One of her medications was already quoted as costing $300/month. 

I am reaching out to my incredible community to help Susan. She has sacrificed so much for me and my family, I need to do everything I can to help her.
