My daughters fight against Myositis/Polymyositis

Donation protected
My 37 year old daughter and single mother of an eleven year old daughter has been ill for many years without a diagnoses until last year. She was finally diagnosed with a double autoimmune disease called Myositis and Polymyositis and just this week, her Dr is now looking for a third underlying illness with her new symptoms that are outside the Polymyositis symptoms. She has been with her job for eight years and has recently had to stop working due to the pain, weakness and Fatigue. These are the symptoms...Polymyositis is characterized by chronic muscle inflammation and weakness involving the skeletal muscles (those involved with making movements) on both sides of the body.Weakness generally starts in the proximal muscles (those closest to the chest and abdomen, such as muscles of the upper arm and shoulder and the upper leg and hip). The symptoms of polymyositis may continue to worsen from the time the disease presents over a period of weeks or months. The muscle weakness can cause difficulties climbing stairs, rising from a seated position, lifting objects, or reaching overhead. In some cases, the distal muscles (those further away from the chest and abdomen including the lower arms, hands, lower legs, and feet) may also be affected as the disease progresses.
Other symptoms of polymyositis include arthritis, shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing and speaking, mild joint or muscle tenderness, fatigue, and heart arrhythmias. People with polymyositis may have an increased risk to develop cancer. The costs for all the medications, tests,MRI’s PT,is mounting since her own state run medical ins is reluctant to approve most of her treatments and when they do,it’s not enough. She has already applied for SSDI,but as most know, that can take years to get approved if at all.In the meantime, she needs help to survive with medical, housing, food and transportation expenses. She is a fighter and is doing everything in her powers to keep going and not lose hope that she can either slow the progression or even get into remission.Any help is welcomed and appreciated by us all.I am doing what I can as her dad financialially, but it’s not near enough. To all those who decide to donate to my daughters cause,we thank you..Latest update...Negative for breast cancer, turns out to be the muscle under the breast that is immflamed from the Myositis,so they are going to increase the chemo to try and slow the progression of the Myositis.Still no word from SSDI,but we are hopeful.....
