My Hope Challenge 2021

UPDATE ... so last Sunday, as part of the  2021 Comrades Centenary Hope Challenge, I hoped to run (and/or walk) 90kms in 12 hours or less!!! And I had this GREAT, crazy last minute idea to try and raise 900 euros to help all the animal rescue foundations on the island ... I Love My Island Dog, SXM Paws, Animal Defenders and Animal Welfare at the same time. 

Well ... several friends came and join me for a few laps, and in the end I ran/walked 72kms in just under 10 hours AND we raised 540 euros ... thank you all for your support and encouragement, and a HUGE thanks to all who have already sponsored my challenge.

It was a great day and a great challenge!!! And I am very happy!!

So now, as it comes time to wind up the GoFundMe I thought ... let me post an update and see if there are any friends and animal lovers who would still like to donate to the cause ... I know it will be appreciated by all our four-legged friends in need, and ALL the volunteers who tirelessly go above and beyond to help change their lives for the better ... "one puppy at a time"!!!

My Comrades Run to Help Dogs in Need on the Island
Perhaps a little "crazy", but tomorrow ... Sunday 13 June 2021 I intend to attempt to run the 2021 Comrades Centenary Hope Challenge. I hope to run (and walk) either NINETY, one kilometre loops or 12 hours in Port de Palisance in Sint Maarten ... whichever comes first!!!

And it occurred to me (yes a little late in the day and last minute ... and I should have planned it before ... but those who know me well will understand) I HOPE to raise at least 900 Euros to help all the animal rescue foundations on the island ... I Love My Island Dog, SXM Paws, Animal Defenders and Animal Welfare.

So friends and animals lovers I am asking you to sponsor me per 1km lap ... I know I can do 30 laps and hope to do at least 45, and we will see about all 90!!! I can't tell you tonight how many laps I will do, but please take a guess and at the same time know you are helping the wonderful ladies and gentlemen on the island who tirelessly help our island's four legged friends.

I will try post updates of how I am doing throughout the day ... and any help and donations will inspire me to keep going!!!
