My Cat Milly's Emergency Operation

Donation protected
UPDATE 2: I got to see my baby tonight! We drove to Southend to see her (Medivet has a 24hour branch there). She's receiving strong pain relief so was a bit spaced out. At first she was a little distressed but once she realised it was me she calmed down and slept. The vet said he had hoped for her to have made more progress by this point, so her blood was checked for signs of issues with her liver, as this was expected to potentially be the reason for her slow progress, however luckily there are no issues there. We got to visit her for an hour as the amazing vets let us stay longer, which was so very sweet of them ❤️ If she's kept in again tomorrow, we plan to visit again. Each night she's kept in is another £200/£300, but I just can't give up on her now.

UPDATE: Milly's operation has been successful, however there was a lot more damage than the vet thought/hoped. The bullet hit several organs so he had to stitch them up and put two draining tubes inside her to drain the fluids that shouldn't be in there. Now it's a waiting game to see how he body responds to the treatment. The next 24 hours are critical for her. My baby has always been a fighter so I'm hoping she can make it through this.

Milly is my 13 year old baby fur ball. She's a grumpy little so-and-so, but she's MY grumpy little so-and-so and I couldn't imagine not waking up to her yelling at me for food or cuddles.

Earlier today she had an accident and had a wound in her side. She managed to come back to the house, but then began vomiting a significant amount of blood. We immediately rushed her to the nearest out of hours vets. At this point it was unclear of how she'd received the wound and thought to be a dog or possibly a badger. I paid £326 to have her put on pain relief until I could get her to a normal vet in the morning (as the operation was going to cost £1,200 to be done out of hours). No x-rays we're done at this time, she was just kept comfortable.

She's a fighter and managed to last the night, I then took her to another vet this morning. X-rays were done and the vet realised she's been purposefully shot with an air rifle and had a bullet inside her. She needed a £2,100 operation to save her life.

I asked if I could do a payment plan but this isn't an option apparently. I've contacted various animal charities but none will help me as I'm not on benefits...

Please, if you can donate anything it will make a difference. I don't actually expect to raise all the money through this, I'm trying to find other ways too. Even if only a tiny bit is raised it'll help. If you have any information regarding this attack, please do not hesitate to contact me on [email redacted] or the local police on 101.

Thank you for reading ❤️
