My best friend, partner in crime faces deportation

Donation protected

Many of you know Edwin or “Max” through me or mutual friends or family, him and I have been together for 4 & 1/2 years. He’s 24 and I am 23. He came to America (legally) at the age of 6 in 2004. Fast forward to high school, he became a dreamer under DACA. Then he received the documentation he needed to obtain a work permit, a SSN, and drivers license. Over the course of the last years he has been in the process of trying to get his residency here and then citizenship! He’s made so many childhood & adult friends that he is blessed to have met in the U.S as well as my family and his family who all reside here.

He received a letter earlier this week from immigration that his case was denied and  he has 30 days (from June 17) until he is deported. With everything going on with politics and the administration under Trump, immigration is heavily influenced and are making it almost impossible for immigrants going through this process, regardless of the good person he is and regardless of me and his family being here. I never thought I’d even have to be typing this story. This is devastating to his friends, our family, his parents & especially me. He helps take care of his mom who lives here and his dad enjoys spending time with us. Prior to the pandemic I was injured pretty bad at work and am still undergoing therapy. He took me to all my appointments and helped me when I was physically unable to walk. I ended up getting laid off because of Covid-19 (I haven’t received unemployment and have been seeking work)and he has been working around the clock to bring in an income. Now, immigration suspended his license and his work permit so I have to take over double the responsibility. He has about 3 weeks until they send him off, leaving me struggling with bills and the fact I am still recovering from my injury. Plus losing my best friend....can you imagine your child or loved one getting sent to a country 14 hours (by plane) away? There is a solution which requires additional lawyer costs on top of what he’s already paid prior, and Courts fees.

By donating, you are helping us get the proper representation for him to potentially change their decision to prove he isn’t a menace to society. For those who know him, know what a great guy he is. He wouldn’t even hurt a fly. We want to show that he is a humble, loving, hard working family man that wants to make a living in this country, provide for his family and give back to the community Hopefully one day he will be able to tell his story. Anything helps! Thank you all! ❤️
