My best friend is hurt!!!

Saturday night my best friend, Ashley Hobart was involved in a propane explosion on a food truck. She has burns on her face, arms and hands. She is at a hospital for burn victims in Denver. She will have surgery tomorrow (skin grafts using cadaver tissue) to help repair the damage.  She has sustained some gnarly injuries (I’m not posting those pictures, but if you want to see them let me know). She is somehow still quite hilarious and in good spirits. Today we joked how I’ve been encouraging her/wanting her to quit the service industry for a while now. I cracked, “Well, can we bright side this? Maybe this will be your final dramatic exit from the service industry.” “Eek, too soon!?” She laughed and joked, “Nope not too soon,  it crossed my mind that I was blasted out.”  Another comment of hers that made me laugh so hard I cried: “I sustained a singed, slightly burnt hairdo, currently looking into eye lash extensions.”  It’s always been laugh or cry with us. We choose to laugh. In all seriousness, her freaking hair caught on fire and she has stitches in her forehead! I am so bummed, sad and stressed that she is having to experience this. I wish I could be there. She will be out of work for a while. It would be nice to get her some money going so she can focus on  recovery. Anything helps!
