My Back and I
Donation protected
My Name is Karen McBride, I'm a Manchester born 'n' bred creative ...
On the 22nd October at 2pm I broke my back in 4 places.
My vertebrae have been crushed and damaged and they are S1, L2,L3,L5.
The Initial treatment is a body brace and walking stick and then an appointment on the 27th November at Salford Royal with the spine specialists, followed by extensive physiology therapy.
If all goes well I ma expected to make a complete recovery c12 months and in 4 months time I should be able to walk without the body brace and unaided by a walking stick.
I can't work for 4 months, not drive for 3.
I've been told that I am extremely lucky not have not been paralysed by this accident, and I am truly grateful about that.
I'm a proud woman and have found this situation extremely tough to come to to terms with and especially to set up a go fund me page. I live on my own and it's tough.
What has encouraged me to do this, is the overwhelming kindness and offers of help and support by so many incredible people, so I felt perhaps this was a way that all you kind people could help.
I have worked out my finances and have cut back on a lot of stuff, but will still run at a short fall.
The funds will take huge amounts of stress away so that I can concentrate on getting fit and well again. I will keep you all updated on the progress and how your help will be helping me.
I am truly grateful for all your kind words and show of love.
We never know when our lives will change in just a few seconds we fall then that's that.
We can't live our lives alone. xxxx
Love always
