Michael's Cancer & Grace's Sweet 16

Grace Gerchman is a good friend of Justin's whose father has been battling liver/kidney cancer for the past 7 years (maybe more).  And more recently has been in and out of the hospital fighting against cancer.  Grace has been a wonderful friend to Justin since she arrived in  his class at Carrcroft in 5th grade.  They attend Mt. Pleasant High School together and Grace was Justin's "date" to homecoming their first year together at Mount.

Grace's mom reached out to see if Grace & Justin wanted to share in a 16th birthday party.  Justin's birthday was back in September, but I said sure as I was thinking it would help defer some cost.

I met with Grace to see what she wanted at her party.  She said the only thing she REALLY has to have is a dance her with her dad since she doubts he'll be here when she marries.

I decided that Grace shouldn't have to share her special day with Justin and she really is low maintance in what she wants---a nice big ballgown type dress, a candy station and a photobooth (well, if we can afford she says). 

I am reaching out to various businesses to see if we can get a dress donated, some food donated, etc.  I am hoping this fund can defer some cost and really make it a special day for Grace.

Any money not  used for the party will be given to Teresa and Michael as I'm sure health care costs, feeding the kids, etc. has gotten to be expensive.

Any amount--$5.00 even is not too small. 

All of our friends and family have been so good to us (mostly all of you guys)!!!  I'd just like to pay it forward.
