Inspiring Teacher Needs Help

Gayle is a singing and tap dancing teacher in the Bay Area. She has been living a happy life, until her neighbor started threatening her and filming her students.  Her neighbor wrote a letter with false complaints to the owner of Gayle’s house and the owner, in turn, told her to leave without fact-checking any of the complaints. 

I have been a student of Gayle for 6 years and my sister for the past 8.  Gayle would work with me to push for improvement with my vocal skills, while making the exercises involved in this process enjoyable through good humor and a cheerful disposition. Her style in lessons, her compassion and listening skills made Gayle one of the most influential teachers I ever had, and most of Gayle’s students relate. 

Gayle charges rock bottom prices for her classes, $10 less per lesson, than the standard prices for her services, which are far higher quality than the average. She charges low prices because she wants her lessons to be affordable to all her students, but the unfortunate result is that she is barely able to cover her expenses.

She is now looking to find new housing and hoping to continue offering vocal lessons, but even the most affordable housing in the Bay Area is at least 1.5 times her current monthly rent, not including rental deposit and moving costs.  Unfortunately, to deal with the sudden jump in costs over the next few months, she needs financial help. We are asking for donations up to $10,000 to cover her deposit, increased rent, and moving costs.  Any donation will make a meaningful difference towards a teacher who lives her life for others and inspires talent and happiness for many of her students and friends.
