Mural "Natives: Beautiful & Beneficial"
Tax deductible
Friends of Noelridge is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to Educate, Inspire, and Enrich our community in the diversity and significance of plants and their impact on our environment. We are dedicated to honoring and preserving the beauty of the Noelridge Park and Greenhouse. In 2022, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the greenhouse, we commissioned a 475 ft2 mural on the greenhouse entrance. The mural depicts a diverse array of native flowers and grasses grown in the greenhouse and gardens, with a monarch butterfly balanced on a child’s hand.
Currently, we are raising funds to complete the next 1700 ft2 of the mural, wrapping around the sides of the greenhouse building. The wall space will be painted to continue the native theme from the entrance, depicting colorful native plants, flowers, grasses, birds, insects, curious children examining those natives, and a family planting a native oak tree. The mural will complement the educational programs we host inside the greenhouse and throughout the park and reinforce our message relating to the importance of natives and pollinators. It will emphasize how people of all ages and backgrounds can help sustain our environment and make a difference by celebrating and nurturing our connection with nature. All park patrons will be able to enjoy this mural as it beautifies the public space in Noelridge Park, and at the same time provides an important message about ecological stewardship.
You can make a difference by donating today to Friends of Noelridge Park Greenhouse & Botanical Center Inc. All funds raised in this campaign will be used towards the Mural on the outside of the Greenhouse in Noelridge Park.
