Hearts United for Chance

Chance Austen is a fifth grade student at Collegeville Elementary School in Bryant, Arkansas.  Chance has a diagnosis of Duchene Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).  DMD is a genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle degeneration and weakness.  It is one of the worst types of muscular dystrophy.  Following is a very small snapshot of Chance's Story:

Chance began Kindergarten at Collegeville.  He had a diagnosis of Autism and quickly won the hearts of his teachers and classmates through his sweet, affectionate nature.  The summer before his first grade year, he was further diagnosed with DMD.  Chance has benefited from ankle-foot braces since he was six years old and has been able to maintain his ability to walk and attend school until recently.  His muscles have quickly degenerated and now requires the full-time use of a wheelchair.  Chance desperately needs a handicapped accessible van so that he can continue to attend school and other activites that contribute to enriching his life.

Please join us by contributing to our "Collegeville Strong: Hearts United for Chance" Campaign.  All money donated through gofundme will go toward the purchase of a handicapped-accessible van for Chance.  This transportation will enable him to remain a valuable and active member of the Bryant community.
