Help Adam get to the IRONMAN World Championships

I’m raising funds to help me get to the Ironman World Championships in Hawai’i this October. Competing in Kona has been a dream since I first heard about this epic race and, after qualifying in December 2019, I finally have the opportunity to race on the Big Island.

For those of you who don’t know me, triathlon has been one of the biggest parts of my life for close to a decade now. It has helped me through some tough times, taken me to some obscure corners of the world, broken my body and built me back up again. It’s a sport that gets under your skin and firmly lodges itself there.

But it’s not cheap. There have only been a couple of times over the years when I’ve needed to seek extra help to get me that final mile, and this is one of them.

All my races are entirely self funded, from flights and accommodation, to entry fees, racing kit, and the all-important energy gels. It adds up quickly. I’ve been able to fund almost every race by myself, but my Kona savings pot has taken a couple of hits in the last year. Like many during the pandemic, I found myself without employment and while I am in the exciting process of becoming a certified coach, as of yet, I have no stable income. I also had to dip into my savings when my trusty racing bike, which has got me on many podiums, was irreparably damaged during a training ride. These setbacks have been just a bit too big to overcome by myself, which is why I’m reaching out for some help to get me to that start line.

For full transparency, this money will be going towards helping me with flights and accommodation. Anything I receive over £1600 (1800 CHF) will be donated to St Catherine's hospice who looked after my father during his passing in June this year.
