Mueller Dairy Farm Fire
Donation protected
On December 22, the Mueller Family Dairy Farm suffered an enormous loss. A fire started and spread quickly with the high winds. Firefighters from many different fire departments came out in the treacherous weather to help fight the fire and keep it under control. Between them and many other family members and people from the community, many hours were spent trying to help contain the fire and save as many cows as possible. However, the loss is still substantial. The milk parlor and the cattle sheds are a complete loss. Equipment that it takes to run a dairy farm was destroyed. Only a few of the cows were able to be saved; most were lost in the fire.
While the farm is insured, insurance will not cover the loss of the family income that has been effected overnight. This dairy farm supports two families. It will not be operational for quite some time to provide the income that is needed.
Karen (Mueller) Carls has thankfully set up a direct account that this money will be transferred to the Mueller Dairy Family Farm.
