Hollie has a smile that lights up the room, the most amazing laugh, and an even more amazing heart.
Hollie also has Stage 4 breast cancer.
Hollie was first diagnosed in May of 2013. By December of that same year, she endured Chemo, a Double Mastectomy, and Radiation.
She has just been denied coverage from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield for her first PET scan since her treatment began in February.
This scan is crucial for her doctors to determine whether she is able to remain on 1st line treatment (if her tumor is shrinking), or go on to 2nd line treatment (if her tumor is growing).
Her oncologist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America even held a face to face distant conference with Anthem to tell them how crucial this scan is for her course of treatment.
They STILL DENIED coverage after that.
She is scared, sad, and angry all at the same time. And so are we.
This will cost Hollie between $9,000-$12,000.
She can't even put a deposit down, then make payments because they said that they would deny all of my other services from THAT visit.
How is this even fair let alone LEGAL?
