Ms. Lillian Oquendo’s Fight Against Leukemia
First let me tell you a little about Ms. Lillian (aka Lilly) Oquendo and why I start this fundraising.
She is one of the sweetest person you will ever meet in your life time, the kind that forever will leave a foot print in your heart. In addition Ms. Lillian is the perfect fashionista, enjoys a good laugh and much in love with life itself. She doesn’t like vegetables, but will jump for some steak and potatoes, (lol) besides a good puertorican arroz con gandules. One thing is for sure, she is being loved by many.
On early April of 2017 Ms. Lillian went to the doctor for a routine check out due to black and blue bruising marks on her body, and after several tests Lilly was diagnosed with bone cancer and has been battling it ever since.
She has no idea how someone that practices an active and healthy life style got this horrible cancer.
Ms. Lillian Oquendo needs our help and support now more than ever. Early May she started the first round of several chemotherapy treatments, but with very little improvement she had to be admitted at Florida hospital on June 22nd, she then started many painful rounds of extensive chemotherapy and blood transfusions for a little over a month. Was released on July 21st and Lillian is now scheduled for outpatient chemo beginning today August 9th through Monday the 14th. Tuesday the 15th she will be admitted to the hospital to have a catheter placed in her chest and continue chemo through the 21st.
For months Lilly has endured a lot, and her Faith has been the light at the end of the tunnel, but now our prayers have been answered; on Tuesday August 22nd she will have the bone marrow transplant, and will be in the hospital for a couple of months. After that she will need 24-hour care supervision for at least 3-4 months of her ongoing recovery, because the risk for complications from the transplant is highest during the first 100 days after the transplant.
Please help all of us help Lilly fight Cancer. Your donation will help with the long term medical expenses that have already accrued: Doctor’s bills, Insurance cop-pays, Travel Costs, Home Care, and so much more.
