MRTC Endowment Fund - Clark Atlanta

A fundraising goal of $50,000 has been set for 2017.  The campaign, "Let's Change a Life", kicks off August 13, 2017 and culminates at CAU's Homecoming weekend, October 21, 2017.  Your tax deductible support and investment in CAU will make a difference and help us achieve our goal.  It will help students who have excelled academically, but require financial assistance to stay enrolled and earn a college degree.  More importantly, your financial gift will make an immediate impact and help change lives forever.  

The Marilyn Reneé Teasley Carnegie Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund (MRTC) was established in 2004 by the Carnegie family.  With an initial contribution of $25,000, the Carnegie Family and its friends wish to raise a minimum of $2 million under the governance of the University and the Endowment Fund Board of Directors.

Described as a modest and loving mother, Marilyn Reneé Teasley Carnegie passed away from breast cancer on December 23, 2002.  The Macon, Georgia native was dubbed a hard-worker in whatever she chose to take on as a project, whether it was work, school or family.  Carnegie, who attended Clark College from 1979 to 1983, returned to Clark Atlanta University in 1991 to pursue her MBA degree.

ENDOWMENT MISSION

The purpose of the fund is to honor and continue the legacy of Marilyn Reneé Teasley Carnegie by awarding scholarships to deserving students.  Recipients of the Scholarship will embody the character and academic achievement that Renee’ exhibited throughout her academic, personal, and professional endeavors.  The spirit of the Endowment Fund is to recognize and award students that have achieved academic excellence, but require additional financial assistance in pursuit of higher education goals.
