On Sunday, Nov 5, Mrs. Ruth Chastang experienced a house fire that completely damaged over 50% of her home located at 806 Lamar St in Valdosta. Fortunately, she is ok and in process of attempting to get situated to such an incredibly emotional and physical loss.
She lost nearly everything with exception of a few wood furniture pieces and pictures. What didn't burn completely, is unsalvageable due to heavy smoke damage and/or the fire department water response.
We are asking for assistance with the process of restoring her livelihood (clothes, toiletries, shoes,etc) and general living expenses. Additionally, we need help with the cost of cleaning up and clearing property as her type of insurance policy will only cover certain expenses. We are hoping to defray that cost with volunteer labor as well.
