I have endured many setbacks over the last several years. Fighting the disease of addiction had taken a heavy toll on my life & being, both physically and spiritually. At the untimely death of my Mother on Christmas 2010, I was near death myself with addiction weighing about 150lbs. If I didnt change things in my life fast, death was surely coming for me as well.
Despite the obstacles I have faced in life, I have always persevered by following a program of recovery and remaining faithful that the best is yet to come & more is always being revealed. To do this competition on my sobriety date June 8 is to make amends for my past and to compete in my Moms honour.
In June 2011, I started my workout program and began personal training shortly thereafter. I have always connected with people and fitness and over the last 15 years I have learned a great deal from some pretty impressive names in this art form.. I committed to a full time workout program in Sept 2012 to improve my strength, technique and physique. I have taken my workout program to a completely new professional and very disciplined level. I am now ready to step on stage.
Despite many ups and downs over the past two year and in spite of the opinions of a few telling me I would or should give up "“ I plan to see my goal through to the very end. In 2 years I have transformed into the person I am sure God intended me to be. The competition on June 8 2013 will be my premiere on stage and if I place I will qualify to compete in the provincials 2 weeks later on June 22, my Papa & Grammas anniversary which would be 67 years they were married.
2013 June 8 Northern Classics, Fort St John BC
- COMPLETED 1st PLACE & 5th PLACE
2013 June 22 BC Provincials - New Westminster BC
-
So part 1 of a three phase strategy completed. I need to raise a smaller amount for the BC's which this time I have included in a wishlist format checklist of the several things I need in the next 12 days. If I place top 5 I am onto the CBBF Canadian Nationals!
Thank you in advance!
Best Regards...
