Nursing School
First, I would like to thank Humans of New York for giving me the opportunity to tell a little bit of my sister’s story https://www.instagram.com/p/CT5IWwzr0WU/?utm_medium=copy_link.
I have been so overwhelmed with the loving support I have been receiving from strangers around the world. You have no idea how much this means to me.
Here is a little bit about my story, my name is Jonnell Richard . I am one of eleven children and we were mostly raised by my older sister Diamond. Diamond lost her childhood supporting me and our other siblings. When she left at the 16 years old l became the new “Diamond,” and at 10 years old, I too lost what little childhood I had. I remember as a child going to ER when ever I was sick, I was drawn to the nurses, because of their kindness. In many ways, my nurses became a mother figure to me, encouraging me to do well in schools and to be successful. This is why today I want to be an ER nurse. Many people have reached out asking to donate to me, and though I hesitated initially, the outpour continued so I’ve decided to set this GoFundMe up to help me achieve my career goals. Though I am still supporting my other siblings I’m ready to “escape,” and leave my childhood memories in NYC and pursue my nursing career and a new life in another state . Any donations you are able to make will help me to support my other siblings and begin my new life. Thank you so much for all the love and support.
