HIP REPLACEMENT with ARTHRITIS

Donation protected
Hi there guys...

My name is Teodorico Joana also known as Antonio Joao, and I was born on the 14 of May 1991, in Inhambane - Mozambique.

I currently live in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, but I grew up in Tofo – Inhambene

When I was 8-9 years old, my parents got divorced and then started my nightmare, at the time we lived in Maputo, since we are from Inhambane, we went back to our roots just with our mother! Few months later we went back to Maputo, and a few months after that, my older brother and I were forced to go back to Inhambene, because my mother had a boyfriend who hated and mistreated us.

At the time I was in 4th grade at school, I never stopped going to school although it was a battle to eat and go to school every day. One day my brother and I went to Tofo-Beach-Inhambane, this is where we learned Basic English, just by watching the tourists and catching onto a few words.

But one miraculous day I met my lovely adoptive parents – Natalie and Dino, (just to make it clear, this adoption had no need for paper work, it was all trust.), at the time I was in 6th grade at school. I spoke English but not very well, they gave me a decent education, for a homeless boy that I was at the time. I now had a family to love me and take care of me, things were great! Soon I learned to work at the bar and restaurant they owned, I started to work as a waiter, barman, DJ, Etc.

I used to be a very healthy boy, I played a lot of sports especially for being where I was at the time, (I played Soccer, basketball, cricket, baseball, touch rugby, surfing, swimming, free diving, and a lot of jogging.), most of all I did Martial arts, I used to train karate called WTSDA – World Tang Soo Do Association,.

Few years later I had my own family, I started diving (Scuba diving), and so on.

During my schooling I graduated in general accounting, insurance management, I am also a Dive master and a translator…

But four years ago began my sorrow and deep sadness, when I was diagnosed with HIP ARTHRITIS on my left leg!! With the pain on my leg there is so much I am not able to do, had to quit my job as a dive master, I can’t  continue working at the bar eider, due to my situation. I am still fighting but is not enough to reach the target.

The doctors say that I need to have a surgery (Hip Replacement), but I can’t afford the surgery. The doctors told me long ago to go for a surgery, and my situation is getting worse by the day, and now I walk on crutches.

I am also not supposed to do hard labor because it accelerates the hip degradation, but to look after my family and to be able to by the expansive tablets that I take every day, I do whatever I can.

The surgery costs about $5500, and this amount of money I don’t have, I am doing everything at my will and strength but I am not even close, because the tablets that I take cost me $120 monthly, I currently  work at MOVITEL,S.A., (this is a telecommunication company based in Mozambique), and monthly I have an income of 10.000MTS - $161.2, since my own house is in Inahmbene, (465km away from Maputo), I am renting a place here in Maputo which cost $56.4.

Sometimes I get people calling to make cocktails for them at birthday parties and stuff, but every time I do so, I suffer from severe pain afterwards.

So I am not just seating around and moaning, I am fighting for my own good and I hereby please beg and ask for your help!

PLEASE HELP ME!

I would love to be able to walk on my two legs with no crutches again, to be able work properly and stuff.

Thanks a lot and here are some pictures of me when I was growing up and well…

Below there are some pictures of before and after.

Thanks a lot and God Bless
