Saving Remi

Donation protected
My baby Remi was hit by a car off of 33 on Saturday (3/17). Somehow he managed to get out of the fence while I was at work. Whoever hit him didn’t stop or do anything to try to contact me (he had on his collar and tag with my contact information). Luckily God was looking out for him and this sweet angel stopped on the side of the road and called Tender Mercies who referred her to call the clinic I work at. When she called Tarboro Animal Clinic she read the name and address on the tag and that’s when I found out my baby had been hit. She brought him up to the clinic immediately and we started assessing the situation. He was in shock, had very pale gums, but a hole through his tongue, and his back right leg was just dangling, among other scrapes/ bruises/ road burns and other injuries. We got him started on pain medications and iv fluids then proceeded to take X-rays. From that we see multiple pelvis fractures. Due to the severity of the fractures, the only option was a referral to the vet school at NC State. I took him to the Emergency Clinic in Greenville to spend Saturday night to keep him stable and monitor him for any bleeding/ problems. Unfortunately his packed cell volume and total solids in his blood dropped a significant amount which could mean either bleeding internally somewhere or he had lost a lot of blood from the accident or the iv fluids were diluting his blood. It kept dropping lower through the night. Additionally his urine output was not matching his input so we were worried about kidney damage/ etc. He made it through the night, thankfully, and today I took him to the vet school at NC State. They did a trauma ct-scan to see what all was wrong with Remi. They saw he has a broken mandible (jaw bone) and a break in his tmj area, which may or may not need addressing (it may heal on its own.) Thankfully, there was NO problems with his kidneys or function, it was the catheter placed wasn’t in all the way/ pulled out some, so they inserted a foley and he’s been having great urine output since! He has a hematoma in his retroperitoneal cavity, but they aren’t too concerned with it, and his RBC count is coming up on its own so he shouldn’t need a blood transfusion before surgery (Yay!!). However he has multiple fractures in his pelvis that need fixing. He needs screws to fix his luxating SI bilaterally and a FHO to fix the break on the right side. They are planning to do surgery either Monday or Tuesday and he’d be coming home two days after surgery! The vet school quoted me $6,000-$12,000 for this surgery and stay for Remi to be saved..
So I’m asking for any help whatsoever to help me save my baby’s life. I also would really love if everyone can just pray for him and his health and strength to pull through this surgery. If anyone knows me, they know Remi is my entire world that I love more than anything and would do anything in the world for. So please, anything helps and thank you so much ❤️
We received the total from NC State and it ended up costing $8,691.73
