On February 25, 2012, Moya , the mother of a very vibrant two year old daughter and a newborn bouncing baby boy was faced with her mortality when she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer at the young age of 38.
After participating in many clinical trials for an ovarian cancer vaccine, undergoing chemotherapy/radiation treatments, major surgery, multiple hospital stays, and a brief period of remission, the cancer has returned and spread to her lungs and liver.
She recently discovered through the genetic test BRCA 2 that she is BRCA 2 positive which predisposes her to a 96% chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. She is currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatments all while raising her two babies as a single mother.
This fundraising campaign has been established to assist with the cost of medical treatment and related expenses.
