Hello All,
Thank you for taking the time to read my dear friend’s story.
Vaida is a wonderful mother of two beautiful children, who needs all the help she can to keep her family together. Two days ago, Vaida and her children escaped an abusive domestic situation and their world has been turned upside down since. She is no longer able to reside in their family’s apartment for her and her children’s safety. Currently all shelters and safe houses are full. She has found temporary shelter for her children, but will need to find permanent shelter. If she isn’t able to make this happen in very quick order, her children are at risk of being put into the foster system. Please help us stop that from happening.
To further complicate things, all of Vaida’s family and support network live in her home country of Lithuania. We are her only network locally. She needs our rallying efforts to help ensure that her children are kept in their mother’s custody.
I (like most of you) know Vaida as our children’s preschool teacher. She has been with our daycare for over three years. She has loved our children as her own, kissed their boo boos, wiped their tears away, cuddled them when they’ve been sick waiting for us to get to them. She’s given me, personally, a shoulder to cry on without an ounce of hesitation when I’ve needed it. She has become a friend to so many of us.
Due to the abrupt way that Vaida and her children had to vacate their home, they had to leave most (almost all) of their belongings behind. Her and her children need many critical items and daily essentials to begin their new lives that your donation will be used for. She also needs the financial support to secure a new home while also seeking legal guidance on divorce and custody matters. Lastly, if money is raised beyond the goal, it will be used to get her family a reliable vehicle.
Whatever you can give (no matter how small) will provide tremendous relief to her and her children during their resettlement.
