Mike and I don't ever really like to ask for help. Together we both usually figure things out one way or another.
But, Mike is in major need of back surgery on his L4 & L5, relieving pressure on his sciatic nerve and decompression of several discs.
There isn't a day where he isn't in pain but some days are worse than others. There are days that he can't get out of bed to work and and unfortunately, those bad days are becoming more frequent than the good days.
We have found a surgery center that comes highly recommended located in Arizona. We would fly down, have the surgery and then fly home in over a period of 4 or 5 days.
This surgery will be a life changing event and the door to the next phase of our future together.
Our insurance is only going to cover roughly half the cost, at best. As a result, Mike and I are left to come up with $15,000 out of our own pockets. We have a medical credit card to help pay for some and then we are working with the surgery center to go over our financing options.
This is a lot of money but if it means Mike will be able to have a more active and fulfilling life, allowing him to actually enjoy work and play, then it's hard to put a price on that, figuratively speaking.
Mike and I would be so appreciative to any amount that anyone can donate. Even if you can't donate we would just truly appreciate any and all prayers we can get. Mike is very nervous but the support of our friends and family is making the process much easier to handle emotionally.
