Mount Snowdon for CALM

The rate of suicide in 2019 in the UK hit a 19 year high. With every week, 125 people tragically take their own lives.

74% of these suicides are men.

Men’s mental health helplines have revealed that COVID-19 has increased the amount of calls and emails tremendously. With 2020 being predicted to be the worse year for suicides since the 1980’s Widely because of the Covid-19 crisis.

This is why we as a group have decided to walk Snowdon on the 10th October 2020 for charity.

We will be donating all money raised to the charity CALM. The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide.

We are a group of lads aged between 19-23. (Please see list of attendees at the bottom of the story.) we as a group have had our own fair share of mental troubles. This is a cause close to our hearts and we believe we need to give something back.

This climb will be a real physical challenge to some of the members of the group. We believe we are trying to replicate the uphill mental battle that some young men go through in their head, every time they open their eyes.
