According to When the Bough Breaks: A Postpartum Depression Documentary, 1 in 5 women suffer from Postpartum Depression.I was 1 in 5.

My Story
A few weeks after Hope was born,  unexplainable shame washed over me. I felt guilt about my guilt. I cried for no  reason.  At times, I felt helpless, worthless, sad, and  empty. I experienced feelings of anxiousness and deep depression. I thought I was losing my mind.

I have a special place in my heart for moms and am fully committed to stopping Postpartum Depression dead in its tracks. No mom should suffer from Postpartum Depression. It absolutely positively  can't survive if authentic communication and true face to face connection is happening on a regular basis. If mothers feel seen, truly heard, and deeply connected with, PPD can't continue.

The Solution
I discovered the solution after talking with hundreds of mothers. The solution is to provide a support network of mothers helping mothers.

Mothers Matter App
Mothers Matter is a maternal wellness app that provides an array of services for all moms. We are dedicated to supporting the holistic health & wellness of moms through ongoing caring communication, face to face interaction, and the fulfillment of requests by gracious volunteers. These compassionate volunteers have graciously offered to give their time and service. They've agreed to take moms under their wing and fulfill their unique needs and individual wants.

Moms use this user friendly app to choose what help would best fulfill their needs:

Peer Supporters  will provide moral support  through  phone chats, in home visits, and Facetime.

Errand Runners will deliver pre-ordered groceries and goods.

Meal Deliverers will cook and deliver warm meals to doorsteps.

Chore Helpers will visit homes and complete dishes and  laundry.

Ride Providers will assist in giving rides.

Lactation Support will provide breastfeeding support through Facetime, helpful websites, breastfeeding  blogs, and support groups.

Postpartum Depression Resources will offer support groups, helpful websites, emergency phone numbers, books, and blogs.

Stress Reliever will make available certified reiki practitioners,  acupuncture, yoga instructors, meditation, in home massage services, individual work out options, and mom group fitness.

Emergency Resources will be a list of phone numbers to call, or text, for those in crisis.

Therapist Resources will be a list of local licensed marriage and family therapists, psychiatrists, marriage counselors, and at home counseling services.

Doctor Resources will be a list of local midwives, doulas, gynocologists, and at home doctor services.

Mothers Matter will also include: Single Mom Resources, Teen Mom Resources, Retail Therapy, Infant & Child Loss Resources, Beautiful Blogs, and Rad Reads.

How You Can Make a Difference
In order to make Mothers Matter accessible to as many moms as humanly possible, FUNDS ARE NEEDED. To complete the design, development,  and launch of Mothers Matter, money is required. To make Mothers Matter available to all moms, month to month & year to year, for Android and iphone users, financial assistance is needed now.

Together, we can prevent Postpartum Depression, altogether. Please join me in my mission to making a real impact on the lives of hundreds and  thousands of mothers all over the world.
