Mother's Career Transition to Teaching

I am a newly-single mother of a 22-month-old child attempting to break out of my old career as a legal assistant. Though lucrative, I do not find the work rewarding or soul-affirming as I have found working in community & birth work to be. Last December I created this fund to aid in my dreams of becoming a doula, though quickly after taking some courses & meeting other birth workers, I realized my son was too young for me to take on on-call work that requires me to leave in the middle of the night.
I want to inspire my son to follow creative passions that lend themselves to affirm self and community, and though my community birth work will have to take a pause for now, I am well on the way to becoming a substitute teacher in Los Angeles. I am awaiting the approval of my credential, and need a financial buffer in the meantime. My goals are still community-centered and my need for support still present.
I want to ask my community to lend support during this transitory phase, as I try to gain some footing and reach full independence from my ex-partner.
My aim is to gain some financial stability after 5 months of unsteady work & income, (which has gotten me into quite a bit more debt to crawl out of) and finally get to a balanced place where I, too, can give back to community --this time by teaching, learning with and providing support to the youth of Los Angeles, who are our future.
