Mother of 4 Needs a Reliable Vehicle

This is my best friend Denise Brown, a single mother of four.
About Denise Brown:
Denise is an eight year breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with breast cancer while she was pregnant with her youngest child. She underwent a double mastectomy and 4 rounds of chemotherapy while her daughter was in-utero and had the remaining 12 rounds afterward, beginning a week after the baby was born.
Close to the end of her chemotherapy treatments, Denise was given another medical diagnoses of severe rheumatoid arthritis. She takes multiple prescription drugs daily and is on a weekly injection for her RA, there are days when I wonder where she gets the strength to not only work a full time job, but also take care of her children's needs. Her son is hard of hearing, on the autism spectrum, is developmentally delayed and has ADHD.
About 2 years ago she was brave enough to get out of a high conflict relationship.
Denise has faced many challenges and has met them with perseverance and a hopeful spirit. For Denise, one of the most difficult things to do is to ask for help, she feels her needs are not great enough and that others have greater needs than her own. But 2018 has not been her year so far.
What She Needs Help With:
Starting at the beginning of the year, Denise has had multiple issues with her 2004 Yukon Denali. First it was the alternator; and now her transmission is shot and needs to be replaced (along with other work). The estimated bill is around $6,000 for all of the repairs. She needs help to pay for the repair bill. Denise survives off of her income as a full-time corporate receptionist (along with court ordered child support), but this is a large bill to cover. She wouldn’t need the help if it wasn’t for having $50,000 in legal debt as a result of a custody battle.
That being said, I would like to see if we can go a step further and raise enough money so that she can buy a new (used) SUV. I'd love to help her to be able to afford something that can transport her family of five (including two children in booster seats), that has fewer miles, and all is an all-around more reliable vehicle.
During her cancer fight and her custody battle, Denise never once received financial help through a benefit, grant, or other major support other than the support of friends and family bringing her meals and helping with small projects around her home.

Where The Money Would Go:
If We Reach: $0 - $6,000 It would cover partial or full cost of car repair
$15,000 Money toward a new (used) SUV to fit a family of five
If we get more It could be used to purchase a better vehicle. In addition, Denise has trees on her property that need to be removed as they are causing damage and growing in to the house and the roof. She also has a garage that needs to be torn down. Extra money could be used to help with these needs. If anyone has the skills and tools to help with these projects it would be greatly appreciated (the house is in Minneapolis).
