Mother of 3, with stage 4 cancer, looking for your help

On behalf of Lindsey's family and friends, we've decided that with so many loving souls stretched out across this beautiful country of ours, that this might be a great platform to help raise some much needed funds for my friend Lindsey Groleau, and her beautiful family: Husband Adam, Gabriel (11), Adalyn (8), and Damon(5).

On April 1st, 2022, at the early age of 41, Lindsey, was diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer. The cancer had metastasized from her breast, into her lymph nodes, lungs, liver, and unexpectedly into her bone marrow. After a drastic decline in her health, she was quickly admitted to the hospital. The doctors prescribed an oral chemotherapy option, however it was not successful and the cancer continued to progress. With the love and support of family and friends near and far, a successful local fundraiser was organized and enjoyed by many. That evening resulted in the much needed funds which helped provide the opportunity to send Lindsey to receive alternative treatment in Mexico. A few days following the fundraiser Lindsey ended up in the hospital due to her blood counts dropping so low that she was very dizzy, lightheaded, and extremely susceptible to bleeding, making it dangerous for her to leave her hospital bed for three weeks. Lindsey became anemic as a result. Lindsey's oncologists changed her treatment plan to an IV chemotherapy, and told her as a last medical effort, that if the drug did not work she could have only a week or less to live. The doctors words were simple: "you can't live very long if you don't make your own blood". This fast tracked the decision to book her flight to Mexico for alternative treatment. With the generosity and support of so many loving souls Lindsey was able to attend 2 weeks at the Oasis of Hope hospital in Tijuana, where she completed daily treatments to not only help boost her immune system, but also to help teach her healthy cells to attack the cancerous cells in her body. The alternative treatment sought came at a very hefty cost, unfortunately beyond what the fundraiser provided. The treatment was well worth the trip as Lindsey's health stabilized and miraculously began to improve before she even returned from Mexico. The doctors in Mexico were shocked at Lindsey's progress during treatment and her determination to conquer the cancer. Lindsey went from not being able to make a slice of toast in the kitchen to being able to walk a block in her neighbourhood.

Her most recent results in March 2024 showed her tumour markers have continued to decrease, while her immune system and spirit have increasingly strengthened. The combination of treatments have improved her quality of life significantly. As such, the funds raised here will greatly assist Lindsey's return to Mexico to continue the treatment that has put her on the right track to rid the cancer from her body.

Lindsey just wishes to be an amazing mother to her children, wife to her husband, and to be able to grow her gardens, play her sports, and do all the things that this kind soul loves.

Thank you again to everyone that has already shown their support, near and far. Without you, none of this would have been possible.
