Morley Burns Vs Mesothelioma

Sometimes life comes at you fast. On April 17th, 2018 Morley was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, Epithelioid Mesothelioma in the peritoneal (abdomen) and it has been life changing for him and those closest to him.
For those who are unfamiliar with Morley’s type of cancer, only 400-500 cases are diagnosed per year. The fact that Morley is only 26 makes his case even more rare as the majority of individuals given this diagnosis are in their 60s and 70s. Treatment requires the expertise of a medical provider not only trained in this specific area of oncology but also apt to treat young people like Morley. Because of this, there are only a handful of such experts in the United States.
On Wednesday, May 2nd, Morley will undergo a 10-15-hour surgery in which doctors will begin to remove as much of the cancer as possible. During the surgery, his spleen, gallbladder, appendix and portions of his small and large intestine will be removed. Following surgery, Morley will undergo roughly 18 weeks of chemotherapy.
Given Morley’s current inability to work, this go-fund me was created in an effort to ease the cost of medical bills and other accruing expenses. Our hope is that Morley can focus 100% of his effort and energy on beating this cruel and unforgiving disease.
Those who know Morley will tell you that he is an incredibly kind-hearted person that truly loves and cares about everyone. He is an amazing son, brother, friend, and husband.
