Morgan’s Lyme Disease Recovery

Donation protected
In September 2021, my dear friend Morgan was diagnosed with Lyme disease. It was a confusing answer to what had been years of unexplained, nameless illness. This disease, unlike cancer and others, has no universally agreed-upon course of treatment with a definitive timeline that insurance companies pay for if it’s not caught immediately. As such, Morgan has spent at least $50,000 out-of-pocket toward treatments not covered by insurance, some of which have been out of state. At times these treatments seemed promising, yet Morgan continues to experience debilitating symptoms.
Morgan has tried everything available to her, from traditional to alternative treatments, and continues to pursue treatment options as best she can. She has tried powering through running multiple businesses on her own while pursuing and trialing countless treatments. Although Morgan feels like she’s suited to running her own business and enjoys working for herself, a big part of the reason for this is to be able to create her own schedule–a necessity when her energy levels and symptoms are so unpredictable.
Recently, she had to make the difficult decision to drastically reduce the scope of her business, Leavenworth Spanish, which serves Upper Valley children and adults through extracurricular Spanish classes, summer camps, group trips to Mexico, and individual Spanish lessons. Over the years I have taken joy in watching Morgan provide meaningful connection and learning to the Upper Valley, as so many have.
Currently, Morgan is considering whether to close this business completely; the extreme fatigue–her primary symptom at the moment–she is dealing with is making it hard to keep it running.
Now, Morgan needs help. She is strong: shown not only through her endurance throughout this health challenge, but now as a recipient of support. Please join me by donating to or sharing this fundraiser, which will help Morgan cover living and medical expenses while she continues to seek healing.
