Morgan Myers, medical bills

Clare Mann's daughter and our sweet friend, Morgan Myers, has been hospitalized in ICU since Wednesday, October 18th. She was admitted with what was first thought to be double-pneumonia. When she did not respond to treatment the doctors were left scratching their heads.  She has endured a series of tests, at least two surgical procedures, and requires oxygen and was intubated and on a ventilator for several days. After a couple of miscues, she finally got a definitive diagnosis on Thursday, October 26th.  She was taken off the respirator that day also.

Vasculitis is an inflammation of the blood vessels. There are many types, and many of them are rare. Once the type of vasculitis Morgan has is identified, she can be treated with the correct medication.  Depending on the type, she could be in the hospital another 1 - 2 weeks..  Once home, she will be off work for at least another couple of weeks to recuperate from this ordeal.
 

Through it all Morgan has remained calm and shown a strength that belies her age. Her family is so proud of the way she has maintained a level head throughout.


As we all know, (and if you don’t, I hope you don’t ever have to learn) the out of pocket expenses associated with hospitalization are monumental and can seem insurmountable. Deductibles and co-pays can add up to the several thousands, especially when you’ve been in ICU for over a week.
