A little over two weeks ago, a friend, son, brother, and so much more, Zachary Cooper collapsed while on the job. He had had a stroke. He was shortly rushed to the hospital and has been there since. He had a surgery where they attempted to remove the clot, which failed and then a surgery where they removed a large portion of his skull to give the swelling brain a place to go. After those two taxing surgeries Zach was left unable to move his entire left side of his body as if you drew a line down the middle of him with a marker. A couple weeks later he is able to be rolled around with a wheelchair, and even walk with assistance (his left leg not working). He can also lift his head, do sit-ups, and eat by himself.
At least one member of his family has been present with him since it happened. Now you can Imagine the cost of all this. Two brain surgeries, two weeks in ICU, all the gas it takes to get from Churchill to Sacred Heart and back over and over, and his parents missing days of work. Not to mention the possible months at a rehabilitation center ahead.
If you think five bucks doesn’t help, you’re wrong. Zach has been my best friend since the 4th grade and I can’t think of another person who deserves your support more.
