Monika's House Repairs from Flood

Hey guys. I'll keep this short and sweet, and I want to thank you for reading this. I'm Adam, I grew up in Houston, and this campaign is for my mom.

My mom is a retired widow and, after living in the same house for 28 years, is residing with me (along with her two dogs Larz and Zofi) while dealing with the aftermath of flood waters sustained due to Harvey and its impact on our city. 

She is not in any kind of flood zone, has never had any issues with floodwaters, and thus has no flood insurance. But like so many others out in west Houston, the effects of the rising water were felt after the storm had passed via the dam releases. 

Her home took in floodwater throughout the entire first floor - destroying many aspects of the house itself (walls, flooring, etc) plus priceless furnishings and personal items from a life spent raising our family. Friends have been extremely helpful in the deconstruction phase but my mom is now left with mounting bills related to the repair of the house we grew up in. 

I'm her only son and can provide all the mental/physical support she needs but, unfortunately, cannot provide every aspect of the rebuild that is necessary. The money raised here will go directly toward covering the basic supplies for demo and packing things in addition to rebuilding the house to its previous (livable) state (mainly walls and floor). Please consider helping me give back to my amazing mother, she has been a huge support growing up and I'd love to return the favor any way I can with 100% of the proceeds here.
