Safe Space Salon Backflow Prevention

My mission with Safe Space Salon is to create an artistic and welcoming environment for stylists and clients of every color, orientation, creed, gender, and identity to come and feel safe and express themselves. It’s also a zero profit art Gallery for local artists. This is a passion project of mine and it is well underway, much too late to turn back now.

If you have talked to me throughout this process, you know it has not been an easy one. I’ve encountered resistance on every step. Now, just when I thought I was there, I found out that the building needed a “backflow prevention” system to be in compliance  with Durham City Water code before I can even obtain my permit for my plumbing. 

I know what you’re thinking- The building should pay for that! Well, the owner of the building has been extremely ill for some months now, and if I want this to move forward, basically it’s on me. This is not something that I had budgeted for and I am terrible at asking for help, but I’m at a loss for what else to do.

If you have it and can spare it, my dreams could really use a little nudge in the right direction.
