My momma, Brenda Gedeon, has raised seven children and taught so many more; she has served and blessed and loved those around her. All my life, she has provided for me, our family, and all whom she comes into contact with. Now it's time for us to help provide for her as she was recently diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy; a complication from years of battling diabetes.
What is Diabetic Retinopathy?
“Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that occurs when blood vessels in the retina of the eye are damaged or swollen, or begin to grow irregularly. DR has four stages: mild, moderate, severe, and proliferative retinopathy. At first, diabetic retinopathy may cause no symptoms. If left untreated, DR can cause severe vision loss or even blindness.”
The Treatment
Diabetic Retinopathy is can be treated through eye injections, laser treatment, or eye surgery. Brenda began treatment in September 2016 and has undergone 7 injections. In April she became unable to continue treatments because of outstanding medical bills.
The Goal
I am reaching out to those that know and love Mark and Brenda asking you give to allow Brenda to continue to receive the treatments she needs in a timely manner, until they are able to get insurance in the next few months.
Our goal is to raise $6,000. This will cover the existing bills and the next few consecutive treatments.
Without these treatments she will more than likely lose her vision.Thank you in advance for you generosity and prayers.
