Mom's recovery from heart attack

Rosana Sleigh has been the best mom a guy could ask for. As a single mother in 98 she got back into the working world and went from a receptionist at the state bar, to a paralegal, to an office manager at a big firm in Downtown LA. For 14 years she worked long hours and sacrificed a lot to take care of me, putting me through college, supporting my dreams, and just being a kind and devoted person. In 2012 the high stress of the legal world had taken its toll and she became disabled due to several health issues, mainly diabetes, hypertension, and retinopathy, which caused her vision to deteriorate to the point where she couldn’t work. Without question, it had become my time to take care of her. In spite of her ailments, she was still that supportive and helpful Mom, always there for communication, motivation, helpful criticism and a great sense of humor.
On October 14th we were met with tragedy as she suffered a heart attack and was rushed to emergency surgery. She is currently in ICU awaiting a bypass, provided she remains stable.
While praying for a full recovery, this will not be an easy journey ahead. In the middle of Covid and shutdowns, I am unemployed and living off my savings, and the living situation will not do for when she is discharged. We currently live on the second floor, and she will not be able to climb the stairs everyday or breathe well in our current living situation.
I’m asking for $20,000 to cover moving to a garden level apartment for at least 6 months, to be able to care for my mom full time, and for any unforeseen medical bills not covered by her insurance. Updates to her condition and recovery will be provided.

I wish you could all meet the most giving and supportive Mom I’ve ever known. If you could all get to know her you would love her as much as I do.
UPDATE 10/17: She has been transferred to USC Keck medical for additional treatment. She remains in serious condition but her vitals have stabilized. Thank you to all for your well wishes and prayers.
