Amelia Evans - Mom to MANY!!!

Donation protected
As many of you know, on the afternoon of November 17, 2017, Mom aka Amelia Evans, had a sudden, massive heart attack.  If it had not been for the quick thinking of her youngest daughter, Andrea, Amelia would not be here today.  As soon as Andrea realized something was wrong, she ran next door to the neighbors where she knew Leanne, a nurse was working.  Mom did not have a pulse and her heart had stopped beating.  Miraculously, Leanne was able to give CPR and slowly brought Amelia’s pulse back. The family is forever grateful to Leanne, who saved Amelia’s life.  Unfortunately, during the time that Amelia had no pulse, oxygen was not traveling to her brain.  These few minutes without oxygen caused some brain damage and has made for an uncertain, rocky road of recovery.  Doctors gave Amelia a 25% chance of surviving this event, and they were not hopeful.  However, Amelia’s strong spirit never quit.  She is a strong, amazing woman and has been fighting against all odds since that day.  Since day one, Amelia’s husband and soul mate of 54 years, Tony, and their seven amazing children has never left her side.  They all took turns and never once left her alone in the hospital, not for a second.  As you can imagine, this has been quite devastating and exhausting for everyone.

Today, God is good and the family feels so blessed to report that Amelia has slowly gained the ability to open her eyes, wiggle her toes, and finally communicate using words, against the doctors first diagnosis. The doctors have told the family, that they have never experienced such a miracle. The family told the doctors, it all comes from a higher doctor – GOD, the one that heals ALL.  Hearing those first words was the most amazing thing ever for her family and they are all filled with hope and excitement as they watch her progress continue.  Two months after the event, Amelia was finally discharged from the hospital and moved to a rehab facility where she will continue to work on speaking, sitting, and eventually walking again.  As you can imagine, the bills from this tragic event have been mounting and as Amelia focuses on going home during the next few weeks she will need ongoing speech-language and physical therapy.  The family would truly appreciate any donation no matter how big or small to put towards these services and bills.  Amelia is a wonderful, giving, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister, friend, and more to so many people and so many of us have been touched by her beauty.  Thank you for supporting her on her road to recovery.
