My mum passed away, May 23rd 2020. She was so strong right up until the end. I’m keeping the fundraiser alive as my father is unfortunately dealing with bills from the hospital and hotels.

My mom was diagnosed with ocular melanoma March 5th, 2008 then liver metastasis October 20th, 2015 and again in October 2019. After trying many chemotherapies thatve not worked for her, she’s turned to trying a drug test in Tampa, Florida.
This trial is run by a company called Delcath, the drug trial it’s self is called percutaneous hepatic perfusion it is a regionalized, minimally-invasive approach to cancer treatment currently undergoing Phase II and Phase III clinical testing. PHP treats a variety of hepatic tumors by isolating the liver and exposing the organ to high-dose chemotherapy.
Provincial insurance doesn’t cover it because it is experimental, private Insurance doesn't cover it because it is a planned out of country treatment. She was given the option to proceed without going through insurance which then costs 69,000.00 US, this will only cover the cost of the therapy itself, on top of that she will need to find housing and feed herself.
This is a rare cancer. It only has a diagnosis rate of 6 people per million, per year. 216 people, in Canada per year I started this page to help her with the expenses as much as possible, and spread awareness.
