My name is Darnae'jha and this is a photo of my mom Christine shortly before she was diagnosed with cancer. My mom was celebrating her 47th birthday and the fact that she'd just become a first time homeowner when she got the horrible and sudden news that she has multiple myeloma. The cancer spread through her bone marrow quickly and aggressively. My mom immediately began chemotherapy at Methodist Hospital in Houston and we thought the treatments were having a positive impact until this weekend. Her kidneys have stopped working, she has pneumonia, sepsis and fluid on her lungs. Her white blood cell count is low and doctors are working hard to help her, but there are so many risk factors because of her weakened immune system, that they can't provide the care she needs to get better. My mom is unable to work and because I'm taking care of her 24/7, I can't work either. My mom's medical bills are piling up and the mortgage payments are mounting. I don't want to lose the house my mom worked so hard to buy and I'm trying but I can't make a dent in these hospital bills. I can't work because I'm my mom's full time caretaker. I've never done a GoFundMe before and I hope to never have to do one again. My prayer is that anybody who knows and cares about my mom or anyone who has been a caretaker for someone with cancer will have mercy on my situation and make a donation so that I can pay my mom's house note and hospital bills until she gets healed.
