Model Behaviour is written and performed by Issy Knowles; a former model who has used her own experience of the industry to create a comedic, cut-throat, cathartic exposé. Told entirely through one fictional model narrator, we are taken through the audition processes, fashion week pressure, and the heartbreaking despair of one women unsure as to whether she can ever be anything more.
Model Behaviour is an exciting piece of new writing, we have already work-shopped the script in community spaces, and our dream is to take the show to the Edinburgh Fringe this year and hopefully propel it beyond!
There's nothing like the Edinburgh Fringe to take writing like this. A strong, funny and unapologetic one woman show which spares no punches. With this year's revelations and horrifying scandals sparking the incredible #MeToo campaign, there has never been a better time to be a new female led theatre company trying to shed some light on one of the most secretive industries in the world.
The Model Behaviour team consists of Rachael Head and Issy Knowles.
Issy is a Meisner trainer actress and a National Youth Theatre member. She was raised in Oxfordshire and first decided she wanted to be an actress after watching Titanic age of 7 and discovering she couldn't be Rose when she grew up.
Issy's heart is in the theatre, and since graduating in 2016 she has focused on the pursuing a career on stage as well as starting to stage her own work.
Rachael is a Producer, Script Reader, Workshop Director and general Creative Organiser. Producing came about naturally through her love of literature and appetite for live Theatre. After that Rachael started freelancing, working on set on feature films, commissioned pieces and television documentaries.
It's not unusual to find her reading at The National bar, preferably with a whiskey in hand.
Launching new theatre from the ground is hard, but we believe in this script and any donation, big or small, will help bring us closer!
