Mobile Veterinary Unit - Capital Campaign!

Tax deductible
SPONSORS/DONORS!! We're back once again looking for help. Some of you may already know that our original goal for this summer was to obtain a mobile vet unit and that was put on hold by the unexpected forced move of our Chugiak HQ. Thankfully we are moved and we are grateful to everyone who contributed $ and muscle.

However, We are still hoping to keep the mobile vet unit dream alive as it's needed now more than ever.
Vets are backed up for appointments 2 weeks to month out, Emergency vets are down on hours and staff. For example: one emergency vet - Tier 1 walk-in has jumped to $185. That's $185 just to walk in the door with undiagnosed issue that can't wait till another vet will have time in jammed schedule. Not to mention the $400 to $1,000 in regular cost for spay/neuters and already limited options for rehoming and rescue groups for this service at reduced rates. We think we can take some of the pressure off by adding services to adopters, mushers. and rescues. We have one $25K donor, but we need to raise another $75K to $150K depending on the limited availability of used units on the market.

VET EQUIPMENT: The unit will have a surgery suite, dental and basic diagnostic equipment. We will staff with the generosity and assistance of rotation of veterinarians who believe in our mission and so no one vet is overwhelmed. The goal is to provide spay/neuters, vaccinations, wellness checks and dentals. Other services will depend on vet specialties available and vet schedules. We will update regularly on our progress toward obtaining a unit. The sooner we raise the funds, the sooner we can purchase. We were initially considering investor options in a for-profit model, but board members/advisors would like us to try to stick with a non-profit approach. We know this is a bit outside the box, but there are other non-profits in other parts of the US that successfully own and operate a brick and mortar or mobile unit. The Unit is owned by The August Fund and staffed by a veterinary rotation. This is important to helping the sustainability of our organization and to helps us fill a great need here in Alaska for affordable care and to take the pressure off already overwhelmed public and private vets.

DONOR INCENTIVES: Are you a mushing kennel, adopter of and Aug Dog, a household with multiple pets? Or are you a business who believes in our cause? We have incentives for mushers/kennels/pet owners at contribution levels of $500 and up if you are a kennel or individual with dogs or cats and want to utilize our vet services once we are up and running. Discounted services at different percentage off depending on your donation amount. PM us for more information. Businesses or philanthropists who would enjoy a tax deduction and advertising of your name or business on our unit? PM for more information.
