Mo to Merida - Round 2
Donation protected
Once again, I am blessed enough to be headed to Merida, Mexico with Marist College's Campus Minstry Global Outreach team. Only difference - this time I am leading the trip!! I am beyond excited that I am fortunate enough to get this opportunity twice and can return to all the wonderful people who put the biggest smile on my face in 2016.
During our spring break in March of 2017, we will be traveling to a small community outside of the city of Merida, Mexico. We will be spending this week volunteering in the town's community center known as Zapata Sur or CEMADE. This center provides a wide range of social services to the community including education, recreation, and a community garden.
Our mission is to serve those in need while allowing ourselves an opportunity to interact with and understand a culture other than our own. We will be spending much of our time doing manual labor, creating and facilitating programs for children, playing soccer and other games with children at the center, and learning about the programs that the center runs and their importance for the people in the community.
I am asking for your donations and support, not only to get us to Merida but to enable us to help these extremely worthy people. The people at the CEMADE are more than worthy of our time and support and I cannot thank you enough for our donations. You helping me enables me to help them - and for that, I am immensely and inexplicably greatful.
