Help Kim Fight Stage IV Cancer!

Donation protected
Our beloved cousin Kimberly Gomez  has been diagnosed with Stage IV Rectal Cancer.

Even though we're all devastated by her diagnosis, we know Kim is a fighter and ready to take this head on!

While she is one of the strongest and most positive people we know -- a loving daughter, a protective big sister to her younger brothers (also a thoughtful little sis to her two older siblings) and a loyal friend -- Kim has a very long and tough road ahead of her. Nevertheless, she is willing to do everything and anything to fight this disease.

Kimberly will need multiple surgeries, as well as aggressive chemotherapy, as she commutes 5 hours from Corcoran to San Francisco for treatment at the University of California, San Francisco. Kim will undergo a colostomy surgery next Thursday (Oct. 19th) and begin radiation and chemotherapy two weeks after that.

Your donations will help her family pay for her medical bills, transportation, hotels and any other necessities she needs to recover. Your help is critical.

Please keep our Kimberly in your prayers. Anything helps.

If you can't donate, please share.

A little about Kim:

Kim is 26 years old, and always has a giant smile on her face. She graduated high school in 2009, where she played on the basketball and track & field teams. She's quite the athlete.

In her spare time, Kim teaches basketball at the Recreation Association of Corcoran (R.A.C.), where she has volunteered at for the past 10 years!

Everyone around town knows Kim, and wherever she goes she's greeted with a "Hi Coach!"

She's desperately missing her R.A.C. family right now.

After 8 long months of undiagnosed symptoms, ranging from fatigue, nausea and an upset stomach, she was diagnosed in the beginning of October.

For now, Kim is doing everything she can to fight this disease and get back to her family and friends, who she so desperately loves.

Thank you so much for supporting Kim -- all your prayers and donations are truly so appreciated.

UPDATE FROM KIM's MOM (01/11/18):

"Two weeks ago we were told Kim’s scan showed her chemo was not working. This is the reason for this week's  MRI.

I am happy to report that the Dr. said the chemo is definitely doing its job and the tumors are shrinking.

Kim is being referred to a liver specialist so that after cycle 8 of chemo, they will schedule surgery to remove areas of the liver that are cancerous.  After recovery she will resume chemo with radiation.

Kim will still have future surgeries after liver surgery. Probably 2-3 more throughout 2018. She still has a very long road ahead of her and we still need all your prayers-more then ever!

We've started CHEMO CYCLE 6 -- and I just want to thank everyone for all of your love and support. We really appreciate everything." --  Kim’s Mom
