Warmth & medical help for Charlotte

Donation protected
This campaign is for Charlotte Kenyon of Nashville Tennessee.  Our name is Terrie and Don Weekly and we live in Huntington, West Virginia .  Our long time friend Beau Keister moved to Nashville, TN and in 2001 met a beautiful lady by the name of Charlotte Kenyon. From the first moment that they laid eyes on each other they knew they were destined to be together and in December 2003 they were married and envisioned growing old together. Both were in their 40's and each had grown children with Charlotte also being a grandmother and when her daughter was no longer capable of caring for her two children Charlotte and Beau took Jackson and Ashlynn into their home  to raise as their own.  At the time Jackson was three years old and Ashlynn was 3 months old.  Sadly, just 10 months after being married, Beau was diagnosed with acute liver disease but continued to work until his health caused him to stop in January 2006.  Charlotte continued to work and support the family but times were tough, money was tighter and in 2009 their furnace broke with no hope of repairing so they relied on space heaters, closing off rooms and their love to keep them warm.  As we all know space heaters can be a very dangerous source of heat but was the only alternative as they didn't have the funds to replace the furnace.  In October of 2010 Charlotte was laid off from work but this allowed her precious time to care for Beau.  Beau's condition worsened and Alive Hospice of Nashville, TN  was called in to help with his care at first at home and then at their facility until he passed away on January 2, 2011. Charlotte was left with a broken heart, no job and two children to raise.  She was able to find a job, two in fact,  but there still was not enough money to replace the furnace.  Because of the loving care that Alive Hospice  provided, Charlotte set out to "give back" to them by providing a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings at her expense for the families and patients residing there the following November.  She told her boss that since she was already broke , it really wouldn't make or break her so  her boss also chipped in by providing a ham and some dessert. It was supposed to be a one time affair but Charlotte decided to continue with the dinners and now, under her guidance, it is a securely funded part of Alive Hospice providing meals on holidays to the staff, families and patients going through this difficult time of their lives.  Charlotte also volunteered to help with a Native American man who was suffering from cancer and made sure he had the proper care that he needed this past summer and made his last months of life happier by providing friendship, care and the love that he lacked.  We all sent cards to bring a little sunshine into his life and he died happy in the knowledge that we all cared for him thanks to Charlotte's big heart.  She is an amazingly strong lady and I am blessed to call her my Sister and friend but I  worry about her and the kids living with only space heaters to keep them warm  during the winter months.  Always the optimist, Charlotte tries looking on the bright side and says that she has heat and air conditioning but it is opposite in summer and winter than everyone else's.  Which brings me to this....can you find it in your heart to help us raise the necessary funds to replace the broken furnace that she needs to provide the warmth in her home that matches the warmth of her heart? Let's band together and make this happen! Thank you in advance and God Bless!  I need to add that Charlotte just found out last week (March 5th) that she has a very large mass in her abdomen  and it is believed to be cancerous.  She will be undergoing surgery next Tuesday and depending on the results will be facing further treatment and will be unable to work for at least six weeks.  Please keep her in your prayers, share this site, and let's help her with more donations to help with her expenses. Thank you all and God Bless,
