Miss Bella Boo's cancer fund

In July of 2014, my granddaughter, Bella (10 months old at the time) wasn't acting like her happy little self. She was fussy, irritable, and lethargic. Her parents took her to Nemours ER and an ultrasound revealed she had a large mass in her pelvis. After two biopsies, weeks in the hospital, and many expensive diagnostic testing she was diagnosed with Stage 1 Neuroblastoma. Her Doctors followed the stage 1 protocol and  removed the mass on 8/1/2014. No further treatment was expected to be needed besides close observation.  At her 3 month follow up appointment with the Oncologist they ordered blood work, MIBG scan, and an urinalysis to look for Neuroblastoma producing chemicals. All were negative. She also had an MRI on December 11 2014 which seemed to be tumor free.

Throughout the holidays Bella was very clingy to her Mommy and a little grumpy but everyone just assumed it was just a little bug or the result of growing pains. On 1/5/2015 Bella was extremely lethargic and trembling so badly she couldn't walk. Her parents took her to the doctor. Her Doctor ran many tests in the office but nothing resulted. He thought he felt some type of hernia and advised she go to Nemours ER ASAP.

Bella was admitted to the ICU  after having several imaging studies which showed signs of tumor regrowth which was obstructing her ureters and causing kidney failure. To treat this, catheters (nephrostomy tubes) were inserted directly into her kidneys to remove the urine/toxins from her body.  She also had to get a colostomy  bag and several other surgeries before obtaining a diagnosis. After 3 long weeks in the hospital Bella was diagnosed with stage 3 Neuroblastoma. Chemotherapy commenced immediately.

At least one of Bella's parents must be with her at all times for the next year since she is immunocompromised. Her Mother's job provides more flexibility with work hours and allows her to work remotely if needed so Bella's Dad decided to stay home with her. He hasn't received a full paycheck since 2014.  Medicine purchased at the pharmacy and hospital bills after insurance will be very costly along with travel expenses (approximately 200 miles per week to and from Nemours Children's Hospital Oncology appointments).

I am asking everyone who view's this page to please find it in your heart's to help my baby girl & her family.  Then share the link on your facebook page so Bella's family can afford the cost of her medical care, and keep her Daddy at home with her for the next year while she undergoes chemotherapy and kicks cancer's butt.  Thank you for your support at this difficult time.
