This Go Fund Me campaign is being set up to assist a coworker, as she travels on a complex journey that none of us would like to go on. After several weeks of severe back pain and discomfort, Michelle went to the doctor seeking pain relief. Her life began to evolve around continuous doctor visits and testing, which led to the discovery of an inoperable cancerous pelvic tumor. Around October 2014, she was given a diagnosis of reoccurring Cervical Cancer that stemmed from a cancer battle in 2006, which now appeared to be an aggressive pelvic tumor, needing immediate attention.
Many were devastated to learn of her recent diagnosis of cancer. It has not only affected her, but every one of the lives that she has touched by her contagious energy. Giving support lets her know that she does not have to fight alone. Michelle has always been a great leader and supportive in all that she has done. Michelle is a very hard working individual that puts her family and others first. She brings a spirit of joy to others. Michelle is not allowing this battle to get the best of her (no pity party there). She has a strong heart and continues to keep her spirits up, through prayer and her zest for living life, not to mention her spunk and humor. In the midst of a fight for her life, we embrace the blessing that she is still here with us.
Her treatments of chemotherapy and radiation are 5 days a week, for a total of at least 4 to 5 months. When necessary she makes 6 hour round trips to the hospital to see qualified doctors for treatment of her complicated matter. Due to the illness and travel, Michelle was no longer able to continue her duties at work and had to leave her job. She will begin an aggressive regimen of chemotherapy in hopes this will lead to the path of remission. The constant back and forth traveling, to out-of-state doctor visits, while struggling to care for her elderly father, whom is also a recent cancer survivor, has created an additional burden on her.
This is a request for financial assistance during her time of need to help compensate for the time off of work during this fight, because her financial road ahead is uncertain. I would like to assist her in any way possible. However, I am unable to do it alone. Therefore, I am reaching out to the community for support to help her continue this expensive fight. Since she is unable to work, these funds will assist with living and rapid medical expenses that have been acquired, in addition to any upcoming medical costs. The funds are needed to help her continue traveling to the hospital/ doctors, and to pay the continuous medical bills that have been piling up.
