Mississippi to NYC:Support Justin’s Opera Studies

About Me:

Justin E. Bell is a young, operatic tenor from Jackson, Mississippi. During his time in school, Justin was Mr. Murrah High School, Student Director of Murrah’s seven choirs, State Champion in speech and debate, performed in Wells (Power) APAC’s Theatre department, and graduated Salutatorian of his high school class. In May 2022, Justin graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major (Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and a Bachelor of Music Education in Choral Pedagogy) from The University of Southern Mississippi, where he was a member of The Southern Chorale and performed in South Korea and Carnegie Hall. Professionally, Justin has performed and worked with renowned organizations such as Classical Singer Magazine, Des Moines Metro Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, and The Denyce Graves Foundation. Now, he heads to New York City to continue his training as an opera singer. This Fall, Justin begins his graduate studies at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, one of the world's most highly regarded music conservatories.

This next step is the opportunity of a lifetime and has been one of my biggest dreams thus far. I am so grateful to my educators, mentors, and fellow artists who continue to pour into me. I am even more thankful to Manhattan School of Music for the opportunity and investment in my education. As we all know, however, New York City's costs are much different from Mississippi, so your donations are greatly appreciated to contribute to both living costs and remaining academic fees.
